Biography
Harpreet Saini is the Head of the Bioinformatics Group at Astex Pharmaceuticals, a world-leader in fragment-based drug discovery (FBDD) based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. She earned her PhD in Bioinformatics in 2004 from the Institute of Microbial Technology in India and completed her postdoctoral research in 2009 at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, focusing on the genomic annotation of microRNAs. Prior to joining Astex Pharmaceuticals in 2014, she worked as a scientist at the European Bioinformatics Institute, researching noncoding RNAs in germ cell tumors. At Astex, her team leverages high-throughput multi-omics technologies and computational methods to support the identification of new drug targets, biomarker discovery, and patient stratification for preclinical and clinical research in oncology and neurological disorders.
